How to Measure for the Perfect Fit

Correctly measuring is a critical step when choosing your gown size. Be sure to wear the same style undergarments when you take your measurements that you plan to wear for the event.

If possible have a seamstress check your measurements for you to be sure you have them correctly measured.  Never try to measure yourself.

Be sure that all of your measurements are the same or higher than those of the size you are selecting. It is easier to take a dress in then to let it out.  If your bust is size 10 and hips are size 14 - order the 14

Bust, Waist, Hips and Hollow are the critical measurements in determining the proper size dress to order.

Bust:  Measure around the fullest part the bust while wearing proper undergarments.

Waist:  This measurement is around your natural waist line.

Hips:  Measure around the fullest part of your hips.

Hollow to Hem:  Measure from the little hollow spot formed where your collar bones come together just below your neck to the bottom of the hem.  If you do not have your crinoline / slip you are planning to wear, allow for that when measuring.

Hollow to Waist:  This is the measurement from the hollow of your neck to your natural waist line.
